Alyssa Michelle Stephens, better known by her stage names Latto and Big Latto (formerly known as Mulatto), was born on December 22, 1998, in the United States. She made her first appearance on the reality competition show The Rap Game hosted by American rapper Jermaine Dupri in 2016 as Miss Mulatto.

Latto’s Career

Despite winning the first season of the show, she declined the record deal that was offered as a prize. Latto joined RCA Records after releasing her 2019 single “Bitch from da Souf.” In August 2020, the song debuted on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching a high of 95.

Rappers Saweetie and Trina collaborated on a remix to go along with the song. Latto released the follow-up single, “Muwop,” in 2020. (featuring Gucci Mane).

Latto Let ‘Em Know, Stephens’ second mixtape, was made available in April 2017. Artists including Molly Brazy, Lil Key, Crucial, and Silentó were included on the tape. Young Lyric, a rival from The Rap Game, is the target of the diss track “Response Diss.”

Diss songs featuring slurs about drug usage, homosexuality, and previous experiences from the concert were released by both parties as a result of the ongoing animosity between the two.

Who are Latto’s parents?

Misti Pitts and Shayne Stephens are the parents of  Latto.There isn’t much information available about her parents, however her father Shayne is African American and her mother Misti is Caucasian.

As a result of being called Miss Mulatto when she started her singing career, Latto reportedly claimed that she had experienced bullying in school for being bi-racial.
